First Impression教学设计

教材分析:

本单元的主题语境The art of painting属于是“人与社会”——绘画的代表作品和人物。语篇类型为记叙文,通过作者在奥赛博物馆参观,介绍了给作者留下深刻印象的两位印象派画家莫奈和雷诺阿,以及他们的代表作品和绘画特色。作者还比较了印象派画作和欧洲传统作品的不同。最后,作者提及了印象派对于后印象派和现在艺术的深远影响。通过这一板块的学习,学生能够领略印象派画家的作画特点和关注点,体验不同的艺术特点,在已有的主题经验基础上,构建多元文化。

学情分析:

艺术文化方面的内容对于高一学生既熟悉又陌生,而且印象派也相对抽象,但作者以具有代表性的画家和作品来讲述印象派的特点和影响,为学生体验和欣赏印象派艺术提供了一个很难得的经历。

教学目标和核心素养:

1. Students can have a preliminary understanding of the characteristics and functions of the Impressionism.

2. Students can understand the structure and the content of the text. By comparing different styles of painting, students can practice the speaking ability and experience the vision of the masters .

3. Students can deepen their understanding of the theme and building a multicultural perspective.

教学重难点:

Key points:

1. Guide students to understand the articles and experience the style of the Impressionism.

2. Guide students to learn how to introduce a kind of painting and apply the strategies to their own writing.

Difficult points:

1. Guide students to use charts to collect and integrate information;

2. Guide the students to finish their own writing.

课前准备:

Collect different categories of paintings in the Renaissance( or different categories of Chinese Arts), and try to find their features and differences by referring to the related books or the Internet.

 

教学过程:

Step1 Lead-in

1. Ss enjoy various types of pictures of nature, earth, human beings, war, outer space or sth else.

2. T guides Ss to think, “which picture gives you the first impression?”, and then invite Ss to have free a talk about the things or people that give them the deepest impression.

[设计意图]利用图片,创设情境,引出主题,激活学生兴趣。

Step2 Pre-reading

Activity 1

Ss read the title “First Impression” and predict what might be talked about in the text.

[设计意图]标题是文本内容与思想的高度概括,教师指导学生解读文本标题,透过标题合理预测文本核心内容,对后续阅读形成阅读期待。

Step3 While-reading

Activity2

1. Invite Ss to read the first paragraph of the text and ask Ss what is the content of “First Impression”.

2. Ask Ss to read through the text quickly and answer the following questions.

   (1) Who made the deepest impression on the writer?

   (2) What style do the works of Monet and Renoir belong to?

   (3) Where does Impressionism differ from traditional European art?

   (4) Why Impressionism has a lasting influence on modern art?

Activity 3

1. T asks Ss to read the text carefully and write dowm the structure of the text on the given paper.(GW)

Ss share and explain their structure maps in class and sticking their structure maps on the board.

[设计意图]解决标题预测产生的问题,同时学生通过提取和归纳信息,将语篇进行分层,从而建立各部分之间的关联,为下一步应用实践类活动的开展奠定了基础。

2. T invites two groups of Ss to present their work to the class.

[设计意图]进一步梳理细节信息,通过概括、整合代表画家莫奈和何雷诺阿的代表作品,引导学生分析理解Impressionism 与传统欧洲画派的不同和其主要特征。

Step4 Post-reading

1. T selects an article with the similar theme and asks Ss to finish the tasks by themselves.

Step5 Homework

1. Read the passages carefully again,understand the passages better.

补充阅读材料:

Chinese artist Huang Yue’s personal exhibition of flower and bird oil paintings opened at the Peking University library in China’s capital, Beijing, on Tuesday.

Traditionally, Chinese artists have used ink painting to express the beauty of flowers and birds, but artist Huang Yue has carried on that tradition by combining it with Western style oil painting. Flower and bird ink painting, a traditional art form that s unique to China, originated during the Tang Dynasty (618-907). Since then, Chinese artists have expressed their emotions with gradations (层次)only in ink, with little color to stress scenes. Its appearance

differs greatly from those of Western oil paintings, where plentiful colors and textures are used to create depth and abstractness. The artist said that his paintings are neither the traditional ink paintings of flowers and birds nor Western style oil paintings. Huang Yue’s oil paintings of flowers and birds exist somewhere between the two, and it's completely new and innovative.

The exhibition, Nature’s Divine Impressions, was initiated by the famous philosophy professor Zhang Shiying and is co-hosted by Peking University Peiwin Education Corporation and Huang Yue Art Foundation. Professor Zhang said Huang’s paintings are not limited by any traditional techniques of artistic expression.

Huang started combining Chinese and Western styles of painting in 2000. As of today many of his works have won international awards and have been collected by art galleries around the world.
